After being tortured by the fae, Sookie is having a lot of trouble to get over it. Physically, even with blood from 2 different vampires she is getting a little better but mentally is another story. Using the help from JB and the club he works at to physically get back together and using Eric Northman, her vampire sweety, as moral support. She’s trying not to be depressed about her roommate, Amelia, moving back to New Orleans. She isn’t enjoying the loneliness at all. When her fairy cousin comes over, it’s quite a shock. She decided while he was there that she wanted to live. Knowing at any moment, Claude would snap since his twin sister, Claudine, was killed in the Fae War trying to protect Sookie. She was pregnant too. Claude surprised her by only asking a few questions before leaving.

Eric finally opened up and told her why he couldn’t make it to her. It seems that Victor, Felipe’s right hand vampire, is jealous of the way Sookie’s relationship is with Eric. He temporarily forgot the vampire marriage of Eric and Sookie and kept him in silver chains knowing that Sookie needed his help. Eric was able to send Bill, who in turn got Niall, Sookie’s grandfather, to help as well. Bill gets silver poisoning from one of the fae holding Sookie captive. Claudine, Sookie’s fairy godmother, expecting a baby falls during the war as well as many others.

With Claudine gone, Claude decides that being around Sookie is the only fae left and he can’t handle being alone. He asks to stay with her for awhile. Only her emotions about everything that being alone wasn’t good for her either so she agrees for awhile.

Bill isn’t getting any better and he told her that the only thing that could make him better would be a sibling or his maker. Since Sookie killed Lorena, Bill’s maker, she felt that she needed to find the other sibling that she made so Bill would get better. Even though she was with Eric now and could honestly say that she loved Eric, she still didn’t want anything to happen to Bill especially because of her.

There is so much going on with this book, I could spend another 500 words telling you about it. I couldn’t put it down for a minute. It seemed that Sookie was into trouble of some sort every page. It wasn’t overwhelming but was captivating. The drama was intense and honestly I had to read it again since I read it so fast the first time, I was afraid I missed something. I loved it the second time even more. If you are a Sookie fan or even if you aren’t you’ll like this book.

Sookie just wanted her life to get back to normal. She was starting to feel better about the betrayal from Bill. She’s getting used to her new roommate, Amelia and her mistake, Bob. Amelia is a witch and she just happened to experiment with her boyfriend and he just happened to be turned into a cat. While Amelia was dealing with her own problems, Sookie had to deal with hers. Sookie is different. Not only is she a telepath but she has learned that she has fairy blood in her. She actually got to meet her great grandfather, who happens to be a real full blooded fairy. Fairies can’t be around vampires since they are so intoxicated by them. Supposedly they are yummy.

After all the disasters are finally over and Sookie has the time to relax. Her roomie can’t go back after Hurricane Katrina and all the vampires are up in arms after the disaster of the bombing of the Pyramid by the Fellowship of the Sun. The vampires seemed to be devastated in numbers and only slowly regenerating. Eric seems to have feelings for Sookie that he’s not sure what to do about them. Quinn is missing. Quinn is Sookie’s boyfriend/weretiger. She hasn’t heard from him since the bombing. He hasn’t called and his sister’s car disappeared one night without Sookie knowing. She had no idea what has happened to him. Her great grandfather has asked her if he could help and she almost asked him to find Quinn but then decided that if he wanted to talk to her then he would find the time to call.

It seems that someone is killing all the Area Sheriffs in Louisiana and the Queen herself is dead. The King from Vegas has decided to take over the territory after capturing Quinn and getting all the personal information out of him. The only important vampire left to consult was Eric. Eric was holed up at Sookie’s house along with Bill and Amelia. Quinn’s sister Frannie came to warn them that Quinn has been captured and it wasn’t his fault. Sookie doesn’t know where his loyalties lie anymore. Victor is the King’s second and wanted fealty shown for the King or the whole group of vampires would burn inside Fantasia, which is Eric’s bar. Eric had to agree and lose some of his pride but staying alive was worth it to Sookie. When Sookie went into her room after the near death experience, Eric was sitting on her bed and just remembered everything about their time together. That conversation would have to wait another day.

Oh the drama and action doesn’t stop for even one page in this book. I could go on and on with the highlights, but I want to leave something for you to read. I might have stopped abruptly but I knew being on the subject of Eric, I would say too much. He is my favorite vampire and I just love his character. He seems more humble when he realizes that he has feelings for Sookie. I really like that. The only sad part about all these books is I don’t have the next one yet. I can’t wait to read it. I have read this whole series in less than a week and if it wasn’t for putting these reviews on here, I would have read them faster. I can’t seem to get enough of the whole lot. The teaser at the end of this one gives a chapter to the next novel, Dead and Gone, and I am salivating for it.

You have got to read this series. I definitely recommend it.

So not looking forward to the Queen of Louisiana’s trial or summit as they call it, but Sookie is the only real witness to her killing her husband, King of Arkansas. She was getting along so well with seeing Quinn once in a while when he was in town and the people at the bar were normal. Jason, her brother, was dating someone serious. When the time came for the summit, she was briefed along the trip by a sleazy lawyer and a half demon. On the upside, she felt really ready for this at least as ready as she could be. Eric, Pam, and unfortunately Bill were going along with her. She was staying at the Pyramid with all the vampires and that’s where the summit would be held. Things always seem to happen and happen in a bad way. She did get to see Barry the Bellboy. He is another telepath that helped to save Sookie by getting a message to her vampires. The party gets rolling and Sookie has to earn her paycheck by listening in on the humans from other areas. She has come up with some interesting facts that the Queen and her counterpart, Andre, can’t get enough of. When they decide that Sookie needs to be loyal, he is demanding her exchange of blood. Eric happens to come along and as the lesser of evils, she takes his blood and he takes hers. That is the magical 3rd time. She is blood tied to him now and knows more than she’s telling. At the trial, Sookie earns more than she’s being paid and things seem to snowball from there. It seems that trouble follows her everywhere.
When Sookie is doing a good deed by picking up a soda that was just laying there like trash, she picked it up. Of course, it was a bomb. And that was just the beginning.

I really enjoyed all the action from beginning to end. The devious behavior from the vampires was out of this world. Also the buildup with Quinn was heartwrenching. I was full of emotions. I loved it. I had the entire book read in way to fast of a time. I should have relished it but I couldn’t put it down for a minute. Have you ever tried to cook supper and read at the same time? That’s how great this book it.

Sookie has just had about enough of the supernatural world and the vampire world. Also she doesn’t have much family left so, learning that she had lost one, even though they weren’t close, made her decide that she didn’t want to lose anyone else. With Bill out of the picture, except when he comes into Merlotte’s Bar with his girlfriend, and her distant relationship with the weretiger, Quinn, hasn’t improved her reality of guys. She also has to learn what her boundary was with Eric Northman, the sheriff of Area 5.

When she took off to New Orleans to go through Hadley’s stuff, someone wasn’t happy about her coming. Hadley was Sookie’s cousin who had died once already. She was a vampire and the Queen of Louisiana’s consort. It seems that things aren’t what they seem when Sookie opens one of the closets to find a dead body. Even worse, when that dead body wakes up after a stasis was put on the apartment by the witch downstairs to keep things fresh. Amelia and Sookie become fast friends after that incident and many, many more.

Learn all about witches and the hierarchy of the vampires. Also find out if Quinn and Sookie can go farther than before without interruption. This book was fantastic and keeps you on your toes throughout the entire story. Definitely Dead is a Definite Hit! I hate to give away any more details that would give anything away. You just have to read it for yourself.

Sookie has so much going on for a small town waitress of the local Merlotte’s Bar. Her ex-boyfriend ( vampire) and ex-fling (vampire) that remembers nothing of their time together, along with a Were named Alcide, that Sookie killed his ex-girlfriend, and her brother that is changing into a werepanther for the first time, should be enough but no, there is someone out there that is killing  shapeshifters. There were three shootings in her area that she knows of. One was a girl that shifted into a fox, another was the leader of the Weres in Hotshot, and the other was Sam, her boss. Only the girl was fatal though. Until Sam was up and going there had to be another bartender to help out so Sookie went to Eric and asked him for a favor for Sam. Eric just wants to know what happened when he was out of it with amnesia. He wants to know if they had slept together or what. Sookie didn’t want Eric to have that much ammunition against her so she kept quiet on the subject. Eric sent his new bartender, Charles, to the rescue for the bar. Although no more people have been shot so far, Sookie did have her own house burn. Luckily her fairy friend, Claudine, was there to get her up and out of the house. Also, Charles had killed the man responsible for setting her house on fire. When the shootings are being pinned on Jason by the other shifters is when Sookie gets shot. Now everyone knows that Jason couldn’t have done it. She was only grazed since she heard the shooters mind right before and had time to duck. Just to make matters worse, Tara comes into the bar with another vampire named Mickey. Mickey gives Sookie the creeps and she wants to know what he is holding over Tara’s head to keep her around. When it all falls down, you won’t believe it.

I couldn’t put this one down. I have to admit that Dead To The World is still my favorite but this one is a very close second. I finished this in less than 10 hours and loved every minute of it. There is such a twist at the end that you don’t know where that came from and you can’t believe it. Also throwing all the hype of the werewolves and their way of choosing a new leader was perfect. I couldn’t ask for a better series. Kudos again to Harris for such a wonderfully, spicy and mysterious series. Thank you

It’s not everyday in Bon Temps when Sookie sees a naked man running down her road. Of course since Bill came into Merlotte’s Bar, where Sookie works, everything about Sookie’s life has been different. She even knew the man running. Since she couldn’t just leave him there, she stopped. Eric was scared which Sookie had never seen that expression from him. He also didn’t know who he was other than vampire. Sookie took him to her house and called his second in command, Pam. She came over to access the damage to him and somehow it came about that Sookie was to keep him there till everything cooled down and they could find out what was going on. Jason, Sookie’s brother told them that she should be paid for her time and patience with Eric. They agreed to an outrageous amount for his safety. Evidently the witches were in town and wanted his businesses and him for personal reasons and since Eric wouldn’t give her what she wanted, she hexed him into amnesia. He only knew that Sookie was a woman that has taken him in and been kind to him. Without really knowing, Sookie starting really liking this side of Eric and one thing leads to another. While Sookie tries to find her missing brother and multitask on the problems of the shifters, her heart is being captured. When things are starting to be settled down, she wonders if Eric will remember their time together, if her brother is even alive out there, why couldn’t Bill be around to help in these situations, and why does she keep getting attached.

I think this is my favorite so far. I liked seeing the softer side of Eric. I think he would be good for Sookie. Of course once he got his memory back and didn’t know about their time together was sad. I felt sorry for Sookie. She knew that things were better off this way but I’m still mad at Bill for cheating on her. Charlaine Harris has a gift! Plainly stated and no need for embelishment. She is the bomb.

I believe the honeymoon is over between Sookie and Bill. Not that they’re married which is illegal and he hasn’t even asked anyway. Sookie has been craving his touch all day and evening and when she finally gets off work and heads over to his place, he is staring at his computer like he always seems to be doing lately. She isn’t getting the attention she wants or needs. Also he says suddenly that he’s leaving for a job to Seattle. She isn’t understanding him at all and she is absolutely crushed. Leaving him alone, she goes home and does her normal routine before Bill came along.  When she was leaving for work the following night, Bubba was at the door. She asked if Bill sent him and he said that Eric did. Eric is Area 5′s Sheriff. He also wants Sookie to himself. He told Bubba that Sookie is to be guarded at all times until he, himself came to take over. Sookie needed the money too badly to call in sick, so she made a deal with Bubba and Sam (her boss at Merlotte’s) for him to stay in Sam’s office and out of sight. Bubba used to be a music icon until his death but at the morgue one of the attendants were undead and changed him over. Ever since, his mind is simple either due to the drugs he had in his system or being so close to death before the change. Either way, he is a simple man and doesn’t like to be reminded of who he was. He is always to be called only Bubba. When trouble starts as soon as Sookie gets to work, she knows that tonight wasn’t a good night. When Pam comes into the bar and tells Sookie that Bill has been kidnapped, she is really upset. Eric and Chow come over with Pam to Sookie’s house and tell her their ideas on Bill and that he was going to leave her for another vampire. Sookie felt all kinds of emotions at once. She was hoping that Eric was just trying one of his tricks to get into her pants but she knew better with the way Bill was acting before he left. Eric told her what he planned was best to get to Bill and make sure he’s still alive. A werewolf who owes Eric and his area, is sent to take Sookie to Jackson to look into the minds of the humans at the clubs around the area to try and find information on Bill. Their cover story is that they are dating, which opens up a new can of worms there. When the show up at a club called Club Dead, Sookie learns many things, some she wanted to know and others that she didn’t.

Will she find Bill in time? What is she going to say about his betrayal? Is the werewolf, Alcide, the one for her? Her libido and emotions are running amok and she has many decisions to make. Hang about again in the world of Sookie Stackhouse and adventure the undead and other supernaturals in Harris’ brilliant imagination.

Absolutely awesome!

Sookie had made a promise to Area 5′s most prominent vampire and she intends on keeping it. Her ability to read minds seemed to impress Eric Northman and he is interested in making some gain from it. Even though Sookie just found her friend, Lafayette, dead in the detective’s car, she still had to go with Bill, her vampire sweetie, to find out what Eric had in store for her. While on the way to Eric’s bar called Fangtasia, Sookie and Bill had an argument and the car sputtered to a stop. When Sookie got out and turned the opposite way that Bill did since her pride was hurt, Bill took off to get someone to repair the car. With him gone, she decided that she’d walk back to town and go home without Bill at all. Just as she got back on the road, a wild looking woman from the woods stopped to talk. She introduced herself only as a maenad and that she wanted to send a message to Eric. Without some vampire blood in Sookie, she wouldn’t of been able to move as fast as she did but was still tore down her back with the maenad’s claws. The maenad was going for Sookie’s face. Of course when Bill found her, he took her to Eric and with a little help from the other vampire, the poison was sucked out and she received a transfusion. After all that, they were off to Dallas to do a job. Sookie didn’t want to go without Bill so she didn’t. When they got to the airport, she was almost kidnapped by someone she later finds out works for the Fellowship. The Fellowship of the Sun is a hate group against vampires and supposedly religious. As Sookie attempts to find out how one of the brothers from the Dallas nest was kidnapped and where he was taken, she runs into all kinds of trouble.

Run with the vampires a while in this thrilling story of Sookie and Bill. You wouldn’t be sorry. It is well worth the time. Kudos to the author again. I couldn’t put this one down.

Ahhh Sookie!

Sookie is different than everyone. She sees it as a disability but actually she’s telepathic. She tries hard to shut everyone’s thoughts out but it makes her less focused on what others are saying out loud. Some think she’s crazy or others think she’s non too bright. Working as a waitress in a bar called Merlotte’s makes her feel good and brings her some income to help her grandmother. It also makes her life more interesting when a vampire named Bill comes in and orders a drink. Sookie could tell right off that he’s a real live (or dead) vampire. She seems to be taken by him, mainly because she can’t hear his thoughts and that is so peaceful for her. No one else wanted Sookie to be with him, a vampire. Since she was of age and able to do what she wanted, she didn’t care what anyone else thought.

Once some waitresses start getting killed, either because they slept with Sookie’s brother or because they had vampire marks on their body, people started pointing fingers. Sookie and Bill have to worry over the town folk thinking that Bill was involved. She decides to look closer at the bar in the next town called Fantasia and see if anyone knew the girls that have died. The cat was let out of the bag when Bill introduced Sookie to Eric. Eric is like the top dog vampire around and he is not shy about letting Sookie know that he is taken with her.

Journey into the mind of Charlaine Harris and Sookie Stackhouse. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story. This book will keep you waiting for more and loving every minute of it. I am a big fan of True Blood and these books from this series are really great. I also like putting the characters and faces from the HBO series together. I don’t recommend this series for kids since it is sexually explicit. Of course I don’t mind that as long as there’s a story in it and not just sex. This book is it!! Great Read!!
