Have you ever felt that everything in your town is dull and uninteresting? I think so many people can relate to that. Especially Raven! Raven was different. When she was little the teacher would ask the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up and the answers were “firefighter, nurse, police officer, astronaut, football player”, and then it was Raven’s turn to answer what she wanted to be when she grew up. Her answer was “I want to be a …..vampire.” Raven was a goth-girl who was obsessed by vampires and always felt an outsider in “Dullsville.” Of course she was considered odd to the teachers and other students. There was one girl who seemed to latch onto Raven from the beginning and that was Becky, Raven’s bestest friend. Becky is the only one who accepts her and in turn Raven is the only one who doesn’t beat up Becky.

Nothing ever exciting happened in town until the mysterious dark haired vampire moved up the hill into the mansion Raven always dreamed of living in. Of course Raven falls in love with the idea of getting close to this guy just so he can turn her into one from the night. Find out what happens when Alexander and Raven cross paths.

I love vampire novels and this one is really good without all the gory details of vampire live. Alexander is a dreamy vampire and Raven is misunderstood, but when they get together it’s magnificent. This book talks about how a 16 year old can feel in situations that real people can relate to in this day in age. It also lets the reader drift into the unknown of vampire life in a way that’s going to leave you feeling happy, sad, relieved, and even maybe cry at some point or two. You can enjoy this and look for the otherbooks from Schreiber in the rest of this series.
