Anita Blake Vampire Hunter #9

Oh wow! I couldn’t put this book down. It starts off on edge and leaves you there.

Anita Blake owes her friend, Edward, a favor. When he calls she has to come down and give him backup. That is the price she pays for killing one of his other backups, Harley. Even though he was going to kill her first. After a while, the favor is on the back burner until he calls one morning. He needs backup in New Mexico now. Anita knows that she has to go but after all the headaches she’s been going through she stays suspicious. For the past 6 months, Anita has avoided both of her boyfriends. She has been learning to control the marks so the triumvirate would still work but they would have a piece of mind to themselves and not crowd each other. In order to do this, she has taken every out of town or state job possible and been spending her weekends in Tennessee with the local pack’s vargamor. Not seeing her boys made staying celibate easier. Once her aura was good and time to face the boys was when Edward called. He would pick her up at the airport.

Edward and Anita might have known each other for 5 years but they don’t really know each other. Anita is getting to see the real Edward or should I say Ted. Ted is an alias bounty hunter that he’s has been using and seems to follow that part of himself more and more. The shocking thing was at the airport, Anita got to meet his girlfriend. And she has 2 kids. After closing her mouth, Anita had to wonder what Edward(Ted) called her down for. Business or Pleasure. Of course there was a case that he was actually scared of. Anita didn’t like the fact that anything could scare him but then again did. It always seems to be a competition between them two, on Edward’s part anyway.

One of the worst monsters is killing people and gutting them but some stay alive but without any skin on them. Not knowing what to do about it or who to turn to, Anita goes to see the local Master of the City. She was a piece of work. No harm, no foul though. Plus it gets even more exciting when the local Ulfric and necromancer start butting heads.

Such a wonderful book to sink your teeth into. I could not put it down. I even burned supper that night. Of course I have read it before but it didn’t make any difference. The one and only thing I didn’t care for is that I have been getting to know alot of characters, since this is the 9th book and there are new ones and not much about the old ones. No Richard, Jason, Asher, and only a dream with Jean Claude. But on a high note, I got to learn more about Edward and his mysterious life. I’d take the exchange but hopefully the next one has more Jean Claude.

Definitely recommended!!!! Happy Reading

Are your opinions similar to mine or is it different? Let me know your thoughts. Did this review help you? I hoped to tell you about it and get your interest going but not tell you too much to ruin it. What do you think about how I’m doing or this book?
